Petition for the Senate to pass the Emmett Till Antilynching Act H.R.35

Target: 10 Signatures Received: 0

It is more than disturbing that the Senate has not passed this Emmett Till Anyilynching Act.  “This bill establishes a new criminal, civil rights violation for lynching. Specifically, a person who conspires to commit certain civil rights offenses (e.g., a hate crime act) is subject to criminal penalties.” Our country is finally taking action to end the systematic oppression of people of color; its time for the Senate to step up to the plate to fight against racism.  Please sign this petition to show your support for this vital issue.

Rep. Bacon H.R. 35, Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act Floor Speech

Rep. Don Bacon ABOUT: Today, I delivered a floor speech in support of H.R. 35, the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act, which incorporated language from my Justice for Victims of Lynching Act. This action is long overdue, going back 200 attempts since 1918, and today, we are going to make history.
